Fireplace Warehouse knows that when purchasing a new fire or fireplace the next step is to get it fitted correctly, we highly recommend that all types of fires and fireplaces be installed by a professional installer, this is to ensure that all current building and safety regulations are adhered to.

Please note that whether you choose to have Fireplace Warehouse arrange your installation for you or not, there are some important notes you should be aware of,

  • Hearths, Chimneys and Flues- recent changes to building regulations mean you now need to either refer work to your local authority Building Control Department to be approved and assessed or use a Corgi Registered Installer who will undertake the work whilst installing a gas fire.

  • Gas Fires- Gas Safety Regulations specify that all types of gas fires should be fitted by a Corgi Registered Installer who holds a valid certificate of competence to cover gas fires.

  • All Fires- all fires must be installed in accordance with the manufactures installation instructions and current Building Regulations and must not be fitted directly onto a carpet or floor of combustible materials.

Installation Procedure

Based on a typical example of an installation which includes the following-
  • Removal of existing fire and fire surround
  • Cutting and fitting the back panel/hearth
  • Installation of surround and gas fire.
In some cases there maybe additional work needed i.e.-extension of gas or electric supply and conversion of the fire opening, this is to accommodate the type of fire and fireplace you may choose, helpful advice is on hand to ensure your desired choice can be installed without disappointment.

Installation prices vary and are given on request.
